False: Anthony Bourdain once praised Wuhan’s bat soup.

There is no evidence that Bourdain ever ate bat soup in Wuhan or ever having praised it. A picture of what looks like a screenshot of one of Anthony Bourdain's tweets was posted on Instagram on June 8, which stated, "This might be the best bat soup I ever had in my life. Someday everyone's gonna be talking about Wuhan." Bourdain was an American chef recognized for his passion for food and travel. He hosted television shows like "No Reservations" and "Parts Unknown." Bourdain tasted some unique cuisines through his travel, but there are no records of him tasting any bat dishes from Wuhan. The screenshot that was shared was a meme posted on Reddit. According to the screenshot, Bourdain would have tweeted it on May 23, 2018, at 5:40 P.M. However, according to his existing and official Twitter account, at the exact time and date, he had made a tweet expressing gratitude to Spike Lee for standing up for his girlfriend during her 2018 Cannes Film Festival awards speech. On that date, he sent out five more tweets, none of which mentioned bat soup or Wuhan. There are no posts concerning bat soup or traveling to Wuhan on Bourdain's official social media pages. According to Food and Wine, Lonely Planet's list of places visited by Bourdain does not include Wuhan. Bourdain's most recent journey to China was in 2016 when he experienced Sichuan cuisine with his buddy Eric Ripert. Bourdain passed away in 2018 at the age of 61. There are no articles or videos of the celebrity chef tasting bat soup.
