Her bio details show that she was born and raised in Houston, Texas, US. She was born to black parents Mathew Knowles and Tina Beyonce. Historical records show that Beyonce's past goes back five generations, and her ancestors lived in Louisiana. Her ancestors can be traced back to her great-great-great-grandmother, Rosalie Jean Louis, a slave who was born in Louisiana in 1800 who was married to Joseph Lacey, a wealthy white merchant.
