The conflict led to widespread speculation about the number of Chinese casualties as Beijing has not released the number of victims, dead or injured. In India, a news channel announced in its breaking news segment that China has accepted that 30 soldiers were killed during the standoff, citing China-based Global Times as the source. However, the Global Times website reveals that the organization has not published any number on Chinese casualties. The Indian Army had confirmed that they had lost their 20 soldiers in the clash in Ladakh while China did not announce any losses, but accused India of crossing the border onto the Chinese side.
