The coronavirus is not always fatal. The WHO states that Coronaviruses is a large family of viruses that can transmit between animals and humans, these viruses can cause common cold diseases as well as death-causing diseases. A Q&A session revealed that there are no specific treatments or vaccinations found for this type of viruses at the current time. Coronaviruses can cause colds, coughs and fever, which can be treated. In more severe cases it causes shortness of breath and pneumonia, which can be fatal. Medline Plus, an online information service provider of the United States National Library of Medicine published an article on coronavirus infections. The article states that among the group of coronaviruses, some viruses only affect animals whereas others will also affect humans. It added that in humans, these viruses can cause mild upper-respiratory infections such as a common cold and also some critical infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia and stated that as of now there are no vaccinations to prevent the human coronavirus infections.
