False: Narendra Modi's Government passed a new law that allows women to kill rapists.

The official tweet by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Indian Penal Code document uploaded by the Hyderabad Police refutes the claim.A message going viral on social media claims that the Narendra Modi government recently passed a new law that gives women the right to kill or harm someone who tries to rape them. The message also states that under Section 233 of the Indian Penal Code, no woman will be punished if she killed a man who tried to rape her. This message is fake, and the government has passed no such law. Moreover, Section 233, deals with the non-bailable crime of making or selling instrument for counterfeiting coin and offers a punishment of imprisonment for three years and fine for same.
