The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has stated that there is no scientific evidence of ibuprofen worsening the condition of COVID-19 patients.The Infectious Diseases Society of Ireland had tweeted concerning the rumour on the anti-inflammatory drug that there was a fake WhatsApp message being circulated, and it asked to ignore and delete the message. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released a statement on 19 March 2020 stating that there was no scientific evidence connecting the use of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) like ibuprofen with worsening COVID-19 symptoms. The article by the American College of Chest Physicians had also said that the evidence behind four COVID-19 patients controversies was refuted in a large randomized controlled trial. The World Health Organisation had tweeted an infographic stating that it does not recommend against the use of ibuprofen.
