The National Mall NPS confirmed that no damage was caused to the Lincoln Memorial or statue. However, the steps in front of the memorial and few statues in the surrounding areas were vandalized using graffiti. Therefore, the rumors and pictures showing the Lincoln Memorial as defaced are untrue.
