The essential and emergency services will remain available apart from which everything would be closed during this period. Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh RK Tiwari clarified that these long hours of restrictions were enforced to carry out the sanitation process in the public places to curb the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. He also denied the rumors on the extension of lockdown and asserted that the lockdown would end in the morning on July 13.
