Statistics show that black people are killed at a higher rate than white people by the US police.According to reports by Police Mapping, PNAS, and CDC, black people have been killed at a higher rate than white people. Despite being only 13 percent of the total US population, 28 percent of black people have been killed by the police. Over their life's course, about 1 in every 1,000 black men can expect to be killed by police. According to Mapping Police Violence, black people are three times more likely to be killed by the police than white people. Currently, 105 (rate of 32 percent) black people have been killed by the police versus 204 (54 percent) white people, which is a high number compared to the low percentage of black people in the population. Therefore, the claim that white people are killed at a higher rate than black people by the police is factually incorrect.
