North Korea had said that it would deploy soldiers to the demilitarized zone but suspended the plan on June 23, 2020.The North Korean army had planned to redeploy troops into the Korean Demilitarized Zone near its border with South Korea. It had previously said that it would deploy soldiers in the Kaesong industrial park and the Mount Kumgang tourism areas. However, North Korea suspended its military plans against South Korea in the Fifth Meeting of the Seventh Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea held on June 23, 2020. It had placed around twenty propaganda loudspeakers along the border and removed about ten of them after the suspension decision.
