The video of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is from December 2019 and is not related to the current coronavirus lockdown in India.A 90-second video of Delhi police performing a security check has gone viral on social media claiming that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra defying the law during the lockdown and section 144 imposed in light of the coronavirus pandemic. By reverse search, it is found that the video of the incident was first uploaded by the Times of India on 24 December 2019, with the title 'UP Police stop Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from entering Meerut'. The article reported that the Congress leaders were going to meet families of those killed in violence during anti-CAA protests in December 2019, but the UP police stopped them from entering Meerut. The Indian Express also published an article on same incident reporting that the UP Police stopped Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from entering Meerut while they were on their way to meet the families of those killed in the protest against new citizenship law and proposed NRC. Moreover Superintendent of Police(Meerut city) Akhilesh Narain has been quoted in the article stating that Section 144 was implemented in the area. By these reports, it is concluded that the viral video was shot in December 2019 and is not from the lockdown times.
