The Salem district of Tamil Nadu added 127 new Covid-19 cases on July 10, 2020, reaching to 1,630. On the same day, two employees of the town panchayat office functioning at Salem collectorate premises tested positive for Covid-19. Following this, the panchayat office and adjacent offices in the building were closed. The Salem DC S. A. Raman said that the premises would be disinfected over the weekend as the employees tested positive with the COVID-19.
