The Supreme Court of India has reserved its final decisions on UGC’s earlier guidelines for conduction of university exams by September.The University Grants Commission's (UGC) earlier notice had appealed to all the universities to conduct exams by the end of September 30, 2020. The Supreme Court was hearing the pleas on the petitions filed by a group of students seeking cancellation of final year examinations to be conducted by UGC amid COVID-19 pandemic. The court, on August 18, 2020, has reserved its order on the case. It has availed three days for all the parties to submit their written form of arguments based on which the decisions would be finalized. Hence, the decision is still pending regarding the final year examination, which is speculated to be released on August 26, 2020.
