Restrictions in Mumbai have been in place since the lockdown in March; no changes have been made. The new order was for an extension of the date.Mumbai city police commissioner Param Bir Singh has stated that the order issued under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is a mere extension of their previous order issued on August 31. There are no new-fresh restrictions have been imposed in Mumbai city. The ban on attendance/movement in public places is not new, and the previous orders have been regularized under section 144 of the Cr.P.C. The confusion over change in restriction order began after a notice under Section 144 was issued by DCP (Operations) Shahaji Umap on September 16, 2020, extending the restrictions in place till September 30.
