According to the Centre for Disease Surveillance (CDC) and World Health Organisation (WHO), COVID-19 is generally thought to be spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets. The Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in a press release stated that currently there is no evidence that food is a likely source or route of transmission of COVID-19 virus. It stresses on the importance of taking all precautions to prevent any possibility of person to person spread of COVID-19 infection during food business operations.
