There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water play areas.Proper operation of the aquatic venues and disinfection of the water(with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus. However, we should not use chlorinated water alone as a surface disinfectant. While there is an ongoing community spread of the virus that causes COVID-19, individuals and owners and operators of these facilities need to ensure health and safety. There is no evidence that COVID-19 can spread to people through the water in pools.  However, it is advised to stay away from all crowded areas, including crowded swimming pools. It is also advised to keep a meter distance from people who sneeze or cough even in a swimming area. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
