The Indian government has accepted infrastructure development rights for Assumption Island of Seychelles and Agalega Island of Mauritius.Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, visited Seychelles and Mauritius in March 2015. During this visit, the Indian government signed the agreements with Seychelles for the development facilities of Assumption Island and Agalega Island of Mauritius. The development of these islands will be part of the blue economy blueprint to maintain India's peace and stability in the Indian Ocean. India signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Mauritius to set up and upgrade the infrastructure of air and sea connectivity in the Indian Ocean's outer islands. The discussion for the development of two islands had been held for months, which finally concluded during Modi's visit.
