Bharat Biotech has developed a vaccine called Covaxin to treat COVID-19 patients, but it is still undergoing human trials.Bharat Biotech has developed India's first COVID-19 vaccine named Covaxin in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV). The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) granted permission to initiate phase 1 and 2 human clinical trials. The clinical trials began at the New Delhi AIIMS on July 24, 2020 and the trials are currently underway. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
