The Philippine Department of the Interior and Local Government in a press release refutes the claim of issuing quarantine order for visitors. An image has been shared in multiple posts on social media claiming that the Philippines has issued an order mandating a compulsory quarantine for all travellers returning from 23 countries, to control the growing 2019-novel coronavirus. The press report issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government clarifies that an infographic which is being widely shared on social media was not issued by the department and also said that the strict implementation of the 14-day quarantine provided in DILG Memo refers only to travellers from China, Hong Kong and Macau. Further added that all other travellers from other nCoV-affected countries may undergo voluntary quarantine. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation.
