President Donald Trump admitted he knew that the virus was airborne weeks before the first confirmed Coronavirus death in the country. President Donald Trump admitted he knew that the virus was airborne weeks before the first confirmed Coronavirus death in the country and that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to journalist Bob Woodward in his book "Rage." As per journalist Bob Woodward’s book “Rage,” Trump was aware of the airborne nature of the virus, even before the first case surfaced in the country on Jan 20. In an interview with Woodward, Trump said called the virus- “deadly stuff”. “You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in the Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus,” Trump had said. However, on Sep 10, he defended comments he made to Woodward in early February, saying he didn't want to "create panic." "The fact is, I'm a cheerleader for this country," Trump said at a press conference to announce judicial appointees. "I love our country, and I don't want people to be frightened." Therefore, the claim is partly true.
