PUBG Corporation, in a press release, said that it is planning to provide Indian users a localized gameplay environment to remove ban in India. The Indian government, on September 2, 2020, announced that 118 Mobile Apps, including PUBG, which are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, have been blocked. Ever since then, there are words of possibilities of unbanning the App in India. Meanwhile, in a press release PUBG Corporation, said that it would take on all publishing responsibilities within India and is committed to providing a healthy localized gameplay environment to Indian fans. There is no official confirmation from PUBG Corporation or PUBG Mobile India as of yet. Moreover, some unnamed sources familiar to the matter said to Mint that a new licensing agreement would be formed to handle the distribution, and PUBG Corporation would retain the publishing rights for the game. This ensures that the Indian partner would most likely handle the distribution. Further, PUBG Corporation hasn't answered any queries raised by the Livemint. There isn't clear if PUBG corp would themselves enter the market or will seek present Indian companies partnership for their game.
