A large number of terrorists had died in the Indian airstrike in Balakot, but the government has not disclosed the official figures. On February 14, 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, India, which resulted in the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. The attack was claimed by the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. India retaliated by carrying out an airstrike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp in Pakistan's Balakot on February 26, 2020, and Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale has said that the airstrike conducted by India had led to a large number of JeM terrorists' deaths. However, no official reports or statistics are confirming the exact number of terrorists killed in the Balakot airstrike. Only news agencies had reported numbers of deaths as 350, which cannot be considered credible at the current time.
