The 'Vahali Dikri Yojana' launched by the Gujarat government in 2019 provides financial aid to the female children to promote female birth-rate.The Gujarat State Government introduced the 'Vahali Dikri Yojana' in favor of improving girls' birth ratio. On August 2, 2019, the government launched the scheme that provides financial aid to families earning up to Rs 2 lakh per year to fund the girl child for their education and marriage. There are certain conditions to be met in order to be part of this scheme. The Vihar Dikri Yojna aims to promote girl childbirths as well as in ensuring proper education is imparted to females in the state. The significant share of the money shall be provided to the families at different stages, Rs. 4,000 to every girl child at the time of admission to Standard 4th, Rs. 6,000 at the time of taking admission to Standard IX and Rs. 1-lakh at the time of taking admission for higher education at the age of 18. The scheme was officially launched at Rajkot by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on the occasion of his 63rd birthday. The Gujarat government has set aside a sum of Rs. 133 crore for the sake of this project.
