COVID-19 data published by Brihan Mumbai municipal corporation shows that Mumbai has reported a dip in the number of deaths.The number of coronavirus cases is on the rise with daily cases recording a surge in districts of Pune, Thane, Aurangabad, and Mumbai in Maharashtra. Mumbai accounted for 25 to 30 percent of the daily deaths reported in July. The city’s fatality rate has decreased to 5.5% as of 16 August from 5.8%-5.9% seen in July. According to figures released by the state government, Mumbai had lowered the fatality rate after BMC launched the ‘Save Lives’ strategy.
