According to a Washington Post-University of Maryland poll, more than 60% of American citizens would like to cast their votes before the election day.The UMD poll was conducted by a market research company named Ipsos by taking a survey among 1929 adult U.S. citizens from August 24-31. The result of the poll was published on September 11, 2020. The result stated that above 60% (6 in 10 Americans) of the Americans prefer to vote before the Election day, whereas less than 50% would like to cast their vote in the ballot in person. 74% of the voters opinionated that those who worried about infecting with COVID-19 should be allowed to cast a ballot through the mail. The political parties such as Democrats (93%), Republicans (51%), and independents (78% ) were in support of this decision.
