Google Threat Analysis team has found that Iranian hackers targeted Trump's campaign while Chinese hackers attacked Joe Biden's camp.Google Threat Analysis Group (TAG) is a division of Google's security department that tracks nation-state hacking groups. Shane Huntley, head of TAG tweeted that groups called APT31 and APT35 have targeted the campaign staffs of U.S. presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump respectively. A simple google search reveals that the group named APT31 known as Zirconium, is a Chinese state-sponsored hacking group and APT35 known as Newscaster, is an Iranian cyber-espionage sponsored by the Iranian government. It is observed that these groups have targeted the U.S.election campaigns before as well. Meanwhile, Australia has been subject to cyber-attacks recently, and security experts have pointed out that China may be behind it. Indian cyber Police have also said that Chinese hackers attempted over 40,000 cyber-attacks on Information Technology infrastructure and banking sector in the wake of border tension.
