On May 7, 2021, GD Bakshi clarified that he was alright and the death rumors about him were not true. Several rumors made rounds on social media in early May 2021, claiming that retired Indian Army Major General Gagan Deep Bakshi had died due to COVID-19. However, General Bakshi, a known figure in the country who can be seen on various television debates as a panelist, dispelled the rumor and clarified that he was alright. In a tweet made on May 7, 2021, General Bakshi said, “to all my worried friends and those not so friendly. IM ALIVE please no panic”. Adding that he is flooded with messages and calls from his panic-stricken friends, he said that he hasn’t gone to the almighty yet.
