True: Supreme Court stays HC order on reserved category candidate migrating to general quota.

Supreme Court of India allowed the migration of candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) to general quota.Ms. Sadhna Singh Dangi, though belonging to the OBC category, topped the merit list of an exam conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. She was then drafted as an assistant professor of geography under the unreserved category as she had scored the highest marks in the qualification process. Following this appointment, a petition was filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court challenging this decision as she had applied under the reserved category. The court then decided that migration was not possible from one category to another and decided in favor of compartmentalization of reservation. Dangi then appealed to the Supreme Court of India, which ruled differently on the matter. The Supreme Court stayed the Madhya Pradesh High Court's order and upheld the appointment of Ms. Dangi under the unreserved category. The bench stated that this is a good example to show how as education levels increased, then reservation could be rolled back to better competition.
