A review report by the Government of Wales proves that 84 deaths were unreported by BCUHB along with another 31 deaths in Hywel Dda.BBC reported on 27 April 2020 that Wales' chief medical officer Dr Frank Atherton, while speaking to BBC Radio confirmed that all health boards were provided with new electronic reporting system as soon as the first epidemic of coronavirus was discovered so that they could accurately provide the numbers to the government. Betsi Cadwaladr health board instead used a different system which resulted from a glitch in the process where 84 deaths between March 20 and April 22 within the area was not updated to the figures of the Public Health of Wales. Public Health Wales(PHW) on 23 April 2020 identified that 84 deaths had been unreported by Betsi Cadwaladr University health board(BCUHB). Further looking into the matter, on 28 April 2020 they also identified that Hywel Dda health board had also not reported 31 deaths due to coronavirus which should have been in scope.
